The Logistics Managers Group (LMG) has changed its name to the Freight Customers Group. The LMG was established 7 years ago as a special interest group of the VTA that focuses on logistics practices. Its members included logistics managers from leading firms, as well as supplier members and sponsors.
The change in name to the Freight Customers Group reflects more accurately the nature of the group and its members. The group will continue to focus on key issues including logistics practices, government interface, industrial issues and technology and warehousing trends.

The Industry Think Tank aims to address a multitude of issues impacting on industry viability, including but not limited to: customer demands, cash flow & inventory costs, compliance, efficient operating practices including fuel consumption, environment issues and carbon offsets. Funded by the Department of Industry, Innovation & Regional Development (DIIRD), as part of the Living Regions Living Suburbs program, Alternative-Fuels.com.au is a one-stop transport industry resource for alternative fuels. The initial focus is on bio-diesel, with additional resources to later address other important areas.

The VWMA is committed to influencing change in the waste industry. The VWMA is an environmentally conscious association, improving the image, professionalism and standard in all sectors of the waste management industry including the collection, transportation and disposal of all forms of waste.

The National Bulk Tanker Association comprises member companies and organisations involved in the manufacture, storage and distribution of liquid bulk products. The NBTA's members have a strong involvement in the dangerous and hazardous good sector.

EPA Victoria and the Victorian Transport Association are working in partnership with companies in the EcoStation program to maximise efficiencies and reduce emissions. The partnership was established through a Sustainability Covenant - a voluntary agreement between the parties to explore creative ways to reduce environmental impact and increase resource efficiency.

Safety Assist is sponsored by WorkSafe Victoria and is supported by the Transport Workers Union and the Victorian Transport Association.
The project aims to reduce the incidents and severity of workplace injuries, specifically those arising from manual handling and loading/unloading activities in the Short Distance Road Freight industry.
